Es wird Zeit für einen neuen Pflanzenliebe-Beitrag, deeeenn ihr habt es euch gestern gewünscht, nachdem ich auf Instagram darüber berichtet habe, dass ich gerade meine Monstera vermehre! Die Monstera (oder Fensterblatt) gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblings-Zimmerpflanzen. Sie ist ganz unkompliziert und sieht einfach toll aus.
Meine Monstera habe ich nun etwas über ein Jahr bereits und so gerät sie blättertechnisch etwas außer Kontrolle. Also hab ich mir überlegt, lasse ich doch einen Teil von ihr einfach in einem anderen Topf weiterwachsen und vermehre die Pflanze. Das Tolle ist: Bei der Monstera geht das wirklich einfach. (Und wenn ihr dann noch mehr Pflanzen entdecken wollt, die sich ganz einfach vermehren lassen, guckt doch mal unter Pflanzenliebe!) Meine Tipps zum Monstera vermehren sowie meine Pflegetipps für die tolle Tropenpflanze findet ihr hier:
Pflegetipps für die Monstera Deliciosa
Die Monstera Deliciosa kommt ursprünglich aus Mittel- und Südamerika und klettert dort andere Bäume hoch, um näher Richtung Licht zu kommen. Deshalb freut sie sich auch über eine Rankhilfe im heimischen Wohnzimmer, an der sie sich emporranken kann. Die Monstera Deliciosa kann in freier Natur bis zu fünf Meter hoch werden – schon ziemlich krass, oder?!
Am liebsten mag die Monstera einen hellen Standort, allerdings nicht der prallen Mittagssonne ausgesetzt. Die Pflanze passt sich mit ihren Blättern an die Lichtverhältnisse an. Wenn wenig Licht herrscht, bildet sie Blätter ohne Blatteinschneidungen aus, um mit der größeren Fläche mehr Licht aufnehmen zu können. Wenn es sonniger ist, bildet die Monstera die typischen Blätter mit Einschneidungen aus.
Die Pflanze muss immer dann gegossen werden, wenn das Substrat trocken ist. Sie sollte nie ganz austrocknen. Um die Blätter von Staub zu befreien, kann sie entweder regelmäßig mit Wasser besprüht oder hin und wieder einfach in der Badewanne abgeduscht werden.
Monstera vermehren
Die Monstera lässt sich einfach über Stecklinge vermehren. Hierbei solltest du allerdings auf ein paar Dinge achten. Die Monstera bildet Luftwurzeln aus. Suche fürs Vermehren nach einem Blatt, an dessen Stamm sich eine Luftwurzel befindet. So ein Stamm, wie ihn auf dem Bild unten siehst, wäre ein idealer Kandidat. Vorsicht: Einige schneiden auch einfach ein Blatt ab (ohne Luftwurzel) und stellen es ins Wasser. Das kann klappen, aber dauert sehr lange und kann auch schiefgehen.
Nimm die Pflanzenschere zur Hand und schneide den Stamm direkt unterhalb der Luftwurzel ab. Achte darauf, dabei die Luftwurzel nicht zu beschädigen.
Nun lässt du die Schnittkante etwa eine Stunde trocknen. Du solltest sie wirklich trocknen lassen, denn sonst besteht die Gefahr, dass die Kante fault.
Wenn du die Schnittkante hast trocknen lassen, gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten: Du kannst du den Steckling in eine Vase mit Wasser stellen und dort erst einmal wurzeln lassen. Möglichkeit zwei ist, dass du den Steckling direkt in etwas Anzuchterde pflanzt. Ich habe mit der Wasser-Methode bessere Erfahrungen gemacht, aber beides ist möglich. Bei der Variante mit der Erde solltest du wirklich darauf achten, dass die Erde stets feucht ist, sonst bilden sich keine neuen Wurzeln.
Jetzt heißt es nur noch warten! Nach einiger Zeit bildet dein Steckling neue Wurzeln und kann in die Erde gepflanzt werden. Diese sehen zum Beispiel so aus:
Beim Anwurzeln freut der Steckling sich übrigens über einen sonnigen Standort.
Übrigens habe ich direkt, nachdem ich diesen Beitrag geschrieben habe, meine große Monstera umgetopft. Sie hat jetzt einen doppelt so großen Topf, um ungehindert weiter wuchern zu können. Und ich habe auch direkt den nächsten Stamm mit Luftwurzel entdeckt, dessen ich sie in Kürze entledigen werde. Ich lese seit ein paar Wochen eher still bei dir mit 🙂
Eine Monstera hab ich zwar nicht,da sie giftig für Katzen ist (wir haben 3 ) daher kommen mir -natürlich- nur ungiftige Dschungelbewohner ins Haus. Habe auch erst vor kurzem angefangen Pflanzen für den Innenbereich zu kaufen,da es bislang immer an den Standmöglichkeiten scheiterte. Keine Fensterbänke bzw. zu kleine,keine Zeit mich intensiv damit zu beschäftigen was giftig/ungiftig für Katzen ist,meinem eher schwarzen Daumen etc.pp
Zur Zeit werden die Fensterbänke hier von Hauswurzen,Grünlilien,Rosen,Hibiskus und Fittonien bevölkert. Bislang hab ich nur die Grünlilien vermehrt. Das hat super geklappt. Suche gerade div. Methoden hinterher,da der Balkon voll mit Pflanzen ist (da kommen die Katzen nicht hin und entsprechend die Auswahl größer ^^) und schau gerade aktuell ob´s bei einer Hortensie klappt. Da steht der Steckling gerade im Wasser 😉
Bei den Hauswurzen bin ich mir genauso unsicher ob´s funktioniert. Da hab ich die kleinen Ableger direkt in die Erde gesteckt und lass mich überraschen ob welche angehen.

Das sind sogenannte Luftwurzeln. In “freier Wildbahn“ nutzt die Pflanze sie, um Feuchtigkeit aus der Luft aufzunehmen. Wenn sie dir zu lang werden, kannst du sie einfach in die Blumenerde stecken. Da stören sie niemanden und bekommen selbst bald wieder Wurzeln und Triebe! Was passiert, wenn du welche abschneidest, weiß ich nicht… Aber streben wird die Monstera sicher nicht davon.

Hallo Lisa,
Ich besitze auch eine Monstera, allerdings ist sie noch nicht so groß und die Luftwurzeln sind zwar schon erkennbar, aber erst ca. 5mm lang. Ich topfe sie nur jetzt um, weil der Topf wo sie jetzt drin ist einfach optisch viel zu klein ist und sie kriegt auch regelmäßig neue Blätter. Gekauft hab ich sie mit 4 so „Grundtrieben“ die in der Erde stecken. Sollte oder kann ich sie vielleicht teilen (meine Mama hätte auch gern eine) oder lieber wieder alle 4 Stück auch in den neuen Topf geben und warten, bis von einem die Luftwurzel lang genug ist?

ich habe meinen Monstera Steckling (mit Luftwurzel) nicht trocknen lassen, sondern direkt ins Wasser gestellt. Das ist nun über 3 Monate her und bisher haben sich keine Wurzeln gebildet. An sich sieht die Pflanze aber gesund aus. Macht es Sinn, den Steckling aus dem Wasser zu nehmen und nachträglich trocknen zu lassen oder hast du Tipps für mich, wie ich es hinkriegen kann?
